This is my setup. The tongue weight is a bit heavy (makes for better tracking), but you can adjust for your setup. 18ft hobie.

Would using a longer set of lines work? Tie off to the very front of the hulls and to the rudder fixtures at the rear?

probably a very complicated addition of different measurements, but, once you know the total volume you can figure it out. water is 8lbs/gallon.
