Like Andrew said, don't focus too much energy on the main. Sail the angles hot downwind. Focus on the luff, sail just on the edge of the luff curlin...

Andre, If your flying the spin, your main sheet acts as your back stay. Want to keep it sheeted, or risk breaking the mast.

Is the 5.8 a North America version? If it is (bow foil) I wouldn't do it. 5.8NA is fast when sailed to it's potential. If it is not, knock yourself...

The 5.8 in the 6.0 are the same boards. I have several.

Correct. They are not on the rear beam to allow hull alignment

Do it all the time and it's really simple. Raise boards and rudders. Unsheet/release jib and main. Put your weight on the bows and the transoms will r...

Marty, SM speaks wisely. If your boat is 1985 or newer, it is foam core, 1984 and back is lay up glass/stringers. The foam core is more involved to...

The beam profile on the 5.8 is round, while the P18 is teardrop, so you won't be able to change out the "steps". I believe the mast profiles might be...

They will stiffen and will fail with no warning with age. A cheap part and should be replaced. Keep the old ones as emergency spares.

Cesar, The Contour also has GPS.

I have both the Contour and the Go-Pro's, and use them hard. Contour's are nice and are similar feature for feature. I like the bullet design of the...

Nacra went to tubular aluminum booms when they upgraded hardware. Much simpler and lighter. As mentioned, very easy to make one and cheap.

To add to Bacho's comments, a lot of the new setups for midpoles are using two patches now. Longer sock under the tramp. If you don't want to modify...

Ed, A picture would help. Sounds like you have the anciently old tire welded to a hub style. There is no rim. Correct? If that's what you have, th...

Here are some pics (plate version, not bolt rope) of what I was describing above. This might be what the seller has, who BTW, is a top notch seller. ...

Adam, The bolt's functions are to prevent the track from moving forward and aft on the sail, and to prevent the slot of the track from flexing open w...

Might want to give this guy a call. It looks like it is missing the pivoting exit block, which you can buy anywhere. I added a picture of mine so ...

The pictured clew traveler has been modified. The Nacra supplied set up has a Harken 140 pivoting exit block.

The 6.0 and 5.8 share the same clew traveler. If you can find one I would buy it. It will mostly benefit you with a new sail or the convenience fact...

I think there is one in the ads. You don't want to put a boom on a boomless rig. Booms induce rotation while boomless don't, the geometry is off, yo...

I hand the mainsheet to my crew as soon as he is on the wire. It is a team effort and you are much faster with crew trimming and helm driving.
