Run the jib halyard to the adjuster fork on the bridle instead of down the mast. Another thing is use the super jib battens.

Upper rudder casting is early 80's or before and those are the original cams for the casting.

You need countersunk rivets so that the car will slide over the rivet heads, and using casings are a good idea.

What I've seen used is Galvanized Steel Hanger Strapping over the top of the tube connected to the trailer with eye-bolts to tension the strapping.

Side slip will be an issue without using the boards but even with a boardless boat you've still got the rudders. Find a deeper pond.
