The 570 would have the Inter rudder system which is a good upgrade. The beams are a D shape. You may have a different jib halyard system as well.

A standard drill will do it. My F18 has the Hobie 20 kit (I think), which is very nice. I would like to see a picture of it on the Inter.

Looks like paint to me. Gel-coat should be thicker and is not normally very flexible.
