Does anyone have these Harken track end controls? I'm not sure if they are rigged correctly, or I just don't like the way they work. If you're at the helm the control line is right at your leg and a real bitch to adjust, especially if you need to bring the car to centerline. The line is routed from the end to the sheeve on the car and back to the clamcleat.

The traveler car with the cleat on it works fine but it has to be a swivelling cleat, not a fixed one as what you seem to have (the picture is not very clear). A fairlead is also needed to guide the line.
Itβs not the typical setup for a beach cat. Beach cats typically control from the center of the rear crossbar which is a much simpler setup (but completely effective). With a center mounted system, when you change tacks, the setting stays the same. Plus the control is in a much more convenient location.
The only real advantage to end controls would be the ability to travel to windward, but thatβs more of a monohul thing, not really applicable to beach cats.

Hi SC19, would mind sharing a high resolution image of your traveler? This way it will be easier to help you with an alternative solution. If your traveler has two sheaves everything is fine, you just have to add a fitting with a swiveling camcleat at the center and front of the cross beam or on the traveler. Probably you can sell the camcleat endstops and go plus π .

As the Dog says, make it like this, (Nacra 5.7). The knot in the line is a stopper, tied so the car will just reach the track end, but not allow it smash through the stop in a gybe.
The car has two sheaves, it works the same on both tacks.

Much better set-up. I'm very familiar with the previous Harken set-up and you're right, it's a bear to try to adjust. I'm curious of how rigid the stainless will be when you load up the traveler, and I would advise to watch your aft foot if you use the traveler cleat as a foot hold.
