I need to know what is the best injectable resin to repair top hull soft spots on a H16. The areas are approx 1'x6" in three different places. Also what is the best injection tool to use.

I talked with a hobie rental company about soft spots once. From what they told me there is no injection solution. Blisters might inject but if the top of the pontoon is soft, they cut a hole and install a wood brace and then reglass the hole. They glass the wood brace in to keep it where it is needed.
They told me that hobie rocking horse hulls are not designed to be walked on much. To stay on the tramp. That walking on the hulls causes soft spots.
I do not own a hobie... largely to talking with the rental guys. I think some makers get a little to stingy on materials for either weight reduction or profit increase. The rental guys told me that the hobie design uses the convex arch on the top of the pontoon as a structural shape. When that gets soft, it runs the risk of the pontoon breaking in two under load.

I think Larry's got the right idea. You drill an injection hole in the middle of each area that's delaminated and smaller holes around the perimeter of the delaminated area, then fill it w/ resin until it comes out the holes at the perimeter.
I've got a couple soft spots on mine, too, that need to be fixed in the next month before it warms up much more around here.

Yeah, I have some experience in dealing with the injection repair systems. They can often work great, when done correctly. If they are not done correctly, one will have little solid pins of epoxy or whatever. if they do no stick to the sides of the fiberglass at the top and the soft area does not get filled properly, hten the top just mashed around the epoxy pins.
One must make sure they get it saturated inside, then their chances of success are much better.
BUT, I have heard of some guys, who can use that stuff and never fail.
