Any recommendations on the best way to clean a sail and should you treat the fabric with anything to keep it in tip top shape. I will be sailing in sail water

I just purchased a 1981 Prindle 16. I am new to cat-ting and the sail is in good shape but the boat has not been sailed in two years. It has fiberglass batts and I am replacing all of the batten strings(they are all dry rotted).

Have not sailed the boat yet but have rigged it on the trailer. Can't wait to get it on the water.

Thanks for all of the help
