Prindle 16 rudder uphaul/downhaul lines
Hi everyone,
I've about got my boat ready to test in the water. One thing I'm not sure of is how to tie the uphaul and downhaul lines to the rudder. The manual says to use a stopper knot which is fine, but where does the excess line go? There's only a very small circular hole where the knot would go, and if the line were to go out to either side, it will get pinched by the castings. Or am I supposed to cut the line?
Thanks
So, to clarify I don't remove my blades for transport. Untying and retying are not considerations for me.
I reeved the lines starting at the helm, fed them in the rudder blades, tied a double overhand knot, trimmed and melted the ends and then took the excess out of the helm side.
I believe I ran 4mm FSE Robline. Was trying to minimize friction.
