So I am looking at a boat and there is a question whether its a 5.7 or 570. The HIN is NACA0352J586. Reading that I am assuming its a 1986 model which makes it a 5.7, is this correct?

from my nacra number list

Move to Woodland hill, California factory - thicker foam sandwich hulls, no seams on outside or stringers visible through inspection ports - hull number under right rear beam?

1986 NACR3002J586 5.2 maybe that R should be B?
1986 NACC0351J586 5.7
1986 NACD0869K586 5.8
1987 NACD0979 A787 5.8
1987 NACB3026I687 5.2
1987 NACA2030A787 5.0
1988 NACG0032F888 6.0
1989 NACD1186C989 5.8
1990 NACB3080E090 5.2 Japan
1991 NACB3091K091 5.2 Japan
1992 NACH0323F192 5.5sl
1993 NACH0424B393 5.5uni

2001 NACR009F001 F17 carbon mast
2001 NACT0292J001 Inter 20
2004 NACTO400C204 Inter20
2004 NACI03026304 500
2005 NACRO152G405 Inter 17R

you sure it's 20' long...

that number looks like it may be a 5.0

It's 19'8" long. That confirms its not a 570 as its advertised. Thanks

So it turned out to be a Nacra 20? Or something different? Sometimes the boats that are miss-identified can be real bargains when the seller doesn't know/care what they have and just want it gone.

My 88 5.7 is a NACA don't have the rest at the moment judging by the info at hand I would say the first part is just the year batch

supposedly

the first 3 letters of the hull number are the manufacturer code

the 4th letter the model type

then the hull, sometimes sail number

and then a 4 digit code where the 2 numbers are the year and the letter some kind of week? code...

these two 5.7s that appear to have what i thought were 5.0 numbers, question the above reasoning....
