I am looking at getting sails made by whirlwind sails and chip asked me the measuement of main fully downhauled until all the wrinkles are removed. Does any one have those measurements handy for the 5.0 main ?
I can send you the dimensions stretched out on the lawn...downhauled would add 3"-4" to the dimension. These boats only used 4:1, you can't stretch them a foot.
Remember, an old sail will already be stretched permanently an inch or more over new measurement, so what I give you will not be new sail dimensions.
If you really want down hauled measurement, I'll have to tie a line to the headboard, run it up, down haul it, mark the line, then take it down & measure the line. I would say the possible error will be an inch.
