Nacra 5.0 Roller Furling Jib

I upgraded my Nacra 5.0 to a roller furling jib and realized that my jib sheet is too short to furl the sail all the way in. What is the best way to extend the jib sheet? New jib sheet or line from clew to blocks? Does anyone know the length and diameter of the jib sheet with roller furling set up? I know I could measure it but I am laid up after a bad bike crash. Did the old a$$ over tea kettle at 25 mph on a dirt road and landed on my back. No broken bones but I have a sore back. Looking forward to getting back on the Nacra in a few weeks.

at a guess
start thinking about another sheet 8ft? longer than the old, 4ft per side from jib block to forestay?
it probably doesn't have to be the same size line for strength, i think i dropped down from 8mm to 6mm, the issue is often that thinner line isn't gripped as well by the jib blocks
standard sizes you can find at the salty dog site

You can also just attach a longer line to the clew blocks and reuse your old jib sheet. You can see mine here althogh the clew is off to the left.: http://www.thebeachcats.com/pictures/?g2_itemId=74481

What is the best way to deal with the little battens in the leach of the jib when roller furling? Furl the sail with the battens sticking out? Cut the batten pocket and remove the battens? Or have the batten pocket re-sewn so it will furl all the way? Thanks!

I would have to cut the batten pockets to remove the battens, so I think I will leave it alone for now. I just found a nice article on roller furling for a Nacra 5.5, including a photo of the re-sewn batten pocket that will furl.

That looks like the way to go in the long run.
Thanks!
