I am attempting to take my H20 out for a spin in Lake Michigan next week. I bought the girl in parts and brought her back to momma and said, "Look what I found!" Reception was somewhat cool (women hate competition), nonetheless she is largely back together.

Immediate problem is she has no hiking straps. Dumping momma in the Lake is probably not a good idea. Hobie is not a lot of help as they don't like her anymore and parts are difficult. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do, use, how to install?

Also, does anyone have a good method for tuning the kick on the rudders? Hobie says something like 30lbs.... meaning what? Hang 30lbs on them upside down and they should release?

Remove the tramp and take to a tent/canvas repair or marine store and have them put 2" wide seatbelt strapping on the tramp. It is usually sewn to the front of the tramp, then passes though a sewn loop of same material about halfway to the stern and terminates in a grommet that can be tied around something substantial and aft.

H20 Straps are not sewn on with a factory tramp. Drill off the plate for each hiking strap get some 2" webbing and have your mistress sew a loop on one end. Tie to the rear of the tramp (If its factory) loop under the attachment point at the middle of the tramp and rivet uder the plate at the front crossbar.
