I do a 400 mile search for a Hobie 21 using a zip code for Encinitas Ca. (which is right next to San Diego Ca.) and nothing comes up. But when I use the Craigslist addy one come up for sale in San Diego which is about 5 miles away. Scraching my head on this one. Anyone have any ideas? What might I be doing wrong?

Try using the "Direct Results Mode".

When you use the regular search on Search Tempest they actually are doing a Google search instead of triggering a search on Craigslist itself.

They had to change to this method after Craigslist blocked the way they were scraping results off there server.

I did your search with Direct Results and got the 21 you mention.
