I need to replace the sails on my p18. Is going with a boomless sail possible and what might be the advantages?

Thanks.

i'm not expert but i think you would need a new sail from a sailmaker who knew how to do the swap as the sheeting position for the block would need to very carefully thought out. without a boom the sail would be narrower with less area. advantages without boom is just the safety factor

My guess is that it would be quite a bit cheaper to get a standard dacron main for a P18 than to try to design a new boomless one.
