I want to buy a DART 18 cat, buy I want to know if it is posible to install confort wings (outtrigger seats) for this ship, I have seen quite a lot for the hobie cats (16, 18, tiger), but never on a DART 18.

What do you think? Will this accesories change the ship behaviour a lot?

thaks

i would think wings will not work so well
the cat is so light and weight sensitive
plus the beams would need some crazy modification to attach wings to, and that could mess up the way the beams marry to the hulls

I agree.
The Dart 18 is about 100 pounds lighter than a Hobie/NACRA/Prindle 18, and sports a smaller sail plan to match.
It is a very fast boat in big winds, but the weight of wings would be significant.
The Dart does not have much buoyancy up front. so the wings would have to be engineered with this in mind= weight balanced fore and aft.
Custom job, with a marine engineers eye needed, and light weight.
It's a project I would not take on.
I'd buy something that already has wings.
