Just got my cl-257s in the mail for my 5.7. I'll install them tomorrow but I can already tell they will be a million times better than my worn out pivmatics and 1/3 the price

Yes they have worked out quite well. They hold the rudders down securely and the pop up tension is adjustable. I release them early when beaching to prevent wear, but that's normal with any pop up system.

Can the CL257 be utilized on a Prindle 19. Current design has line coming from inside tiller then exiting at the end to a V-jam cleat

Any updates on pivmatic to cl257 conversions with pics? I'm getting ready to take the plunge as the adjustable kick up force feature should reduce rudder damage in the event of impact. Of particular interest is how those who have done the conversion attached the cleats so as to not interfere with the bungee coming up through the tube. Also, would it make sense to locate the cleat on the side of the tube rather than the top so as to get a straighter run on the hold down line coming up from the bottom of the tube?

Pivmatic to Clamcleat CL257 conversion? I just bought a pair and plan to install them soon. Never did see any before/after pics of your conversion. Can you post a few?

Anyone else done the conversion, experience/pics?
