someone must have cut a corner too close and broke one of my Nacra 5.0 rudders. After searching around with no luck at finding a direct replacement, I stumbled upon someone selling undrilled Hobie rudders and I could get a matched set. Would something like that work, or will I need to find the real deal? Would a 5.2 work if I found a matching set?

Thanks for the help!

No, they are about 4" to short. The skeg hull boats,(5.0, 5.7) require a longer blade due to the rise in the hull towards the sterns.

Steve,

If you just want to get back out on the water you can use the 5.2 rudder, however, Like Ed wrote it will be shorter than the 5.0. You can have a mix-matched pair, but you'll probably sacrifice some performance, in particularly at slower speeds. You probably wouldn't want to race with this configuration. We have one here if you are interested. Let us know if you have any questions.

I have 3 spares if you can wait I can sell one to you and send it late next week. They all need a little bit of epoxy work but are useable.

Pm me for a price.

Mmmmmmmmmm. It might work quite well. There's only one way to know.
