I HAVE A SOLCAT 18 ALL OF THE LINE,BLOCKS AND SHACKLE ARE MISSING. WOULD 2 RONSTAN 29MM FERRULE EYE HEAD AND A HARKEN SHACKLE BOW 5MM WORK? THERE IS A PART ON THE TILLER HANDLE THAT IS MISSING THAT HOLDS THE RUDDERS DOWN WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS PART? I BELIEVE THAT THIS PART SWIVELS, THAT IF YOU HIT SOMETHING WITH THE RUDDERSIT WILL RELEASE.

Hi Tim,
I replied to your other post about the jib sheet and blocks.

That "other" piece that keeps the rudder line in place, I don't know what it's called. I can tell you that both of mine broke. The original owner replaced one of them with an oak copy. The other one broke on my first trip and I had to make another one out of oak myself (I had some ironwood and teak on-hand, but made it out of white oak just to match the other one).

It took about 30 minutes with a small saw and a file to fabricate and it works well.

I'll post a pic for you and you can see how easy it is to just make one up.

Dan

Positive, reliable and easy to install. Nacra rudders automatically kick up on contact with submerged objects with this rudder release fitting. Complete kit for one side as shown. Performance Sports factory item #0266. Replacement parts are also available.

This is a NACRA Pivmatic Assembly. Murrays sells these here http://www.murrays.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=56-0266&Category_Code=C-PF&Store_Code=MS

Now that's the cat's meow. Very hot looking compared to my primitive fix.

Thanks Steve.
