Any Tornados in CT here?
So the fleet has expanded from a H16 to an 80's vintage Tornado. It will be a recreational boat for now. It was stored apart for glassing. I have been reading like crazy here and at the yahoo group page. The boat is slathered with every aftermarket racing do dad from the 80s. They will be removed and a basic rig used. Just wondering if there any other Tornados local.
I am both excited to be moving up as the crew is 500 pounds and nervous about a boat of this caliber never having been on one before.
Til then there is lots of work to do to put this together and set it up.

Hi John,
I am in a simular situation, just a few steps ahead of You.
Sailed my early 80's Reg White T six times now.
My suggestion is to get a good set of sails and keep the T
to a bare minimum tuning-wise.
Traveller, mainsheet, downhaul and jib sheet will keep
your hands full in a breeze the first time out. Single trap-
lines will do for the first experience .
Funny experience is the T sails like a " Mercedes" in light
to moderate breeze, so smooth and quiet. But fast.
The moment the wind picks up and you step the throttle ,
eq main and traveller, it turns into a killer "Ferrari " nice...
Post as many questions you like, use pictures with you're
questions. PM me if you like.
Our club has 7 Tornado owners, varying from top notch,
carbon mast beasts to recreational Tornado's.
Edit,
You probably have seen this, but nevertheless..
