Above mentioned Nacra has straps holding beam in place, no through bolts, no internal beam casting, so how does one figure if the dolphin striker rod is plumb? Who knows the history of this old boat, there is no "boat fax", the front beam might have rotated over the years, looking down inside the front beam the striker rod is not vertical, so does one have to plumb the rod or does one leave it?

IIRC that year used the small mast ball,(1 1/4"on a non captive base), a smaller diameter DS rod,(prone to bending), & bar that went from front beam to rear beam to prevent rotation.
If your boat has the original beams, you should see rivet holes, in the center of the rear beam, & just below the mast ball on front beam where the bar attached.
Many people modded them, removing the bar & pulling 2 SS rivets in each front strap.
The rod should be vertical, but vertical when in a floating position.
Loosen the beam straps, rotate beam, tighten straps. then drill 2 holes through each strap/beam, & pull SS rivets.
