I recently purchased 6:1 Harken blocks to replace my Seaway 4:1, I now find that the Harken ratchet block does not fit my traveler, pivot pin too thick, any suggestions?

my lower block came with a shackle so i put the pin in the traveler through the shackle. ive heard of other people grinding the pivot pin down so it fits into the traveler.

The blocks I purchases did come with a shackle, I really prefer having a quick release pin for connecting the ratchet block to the traveler car, I will have to see if I can get the pivot pin milled smaller.

im saying keep the shackle on the block and just run the quick release pin through the travler and the shackle
