I bought an 18' cat, but it doesn't have the battens for the sails. I plan on a little day sailing, no racing in mind. Do I need battens or can I sail without?

memberz, Welcome to TheBeachcats.com, which 18 foot cat did you buy? Tell us a little about yourself and your sailing area.

high aspect cat sails with a large roach need some kind of batten, end of story

then the choices begin

$500? for the set of new foam filled tapered frp battens as found on nacra

$200? for a set of solid frp battens as found hobie

don't know why but can't seem to post more than 10 lines???
