Need Help Identifying a Cat

Boat looks like a G Cat, but the sail ID looks wrong.

It's not a G-cat. Similar, and yes it does look a little bit like one. Wrong deck profile and wrong keel profile though. It appears to be pretty rare considering the sail number of 199, if that is the correct sail, which it might be. 😕

Can you upload a picture of the stearn, aft profile, and rudder shape?

Is there anything stamped or names of any sort on the cat?

It appears to be a skeg boat which narrows down the possibilities. I thought it might be a Dart since most of those have skegs, but I'm not familiar enough with them. Based on the way the deck slopes it actually looks a lot like a Prindle 16 or 18.

Some other info that might help:
What part of the world was it found in?
Length of hulls from bow to stern? (not including rudders)
Beam measured to outside of hulls at widest point?
Any letters or number etched in the fiberglass or on a plate attached to the beams?
HIN numbers were usually stamped or etched into the sterns.

I thought it might be a Dart since most of those have skegs, but I'm not familiar enough with them.

Darts have the sheer on the bow, but they are smooth hulled, no lip around the top edge.
The Dart skeg hull is more like the skeg NAcra, it is a smooth transition to the skeg, does not have that chine near the bottom.

Definitely NOT dart 18 which has no boom and hull shape differs skeg gas more pronounced no lip etc as explained by Ed Chris please provide dimensions length and width/beam looks like a 16.

Hi guys! Sorry I have been away all weekend sailing in a regatta (yacht sailor here). I think i have some pictures here form a previous visit, if not I will go get some more tomorrow.

There are no special stamps, signs or logos that are identifiable features on the cat.

This boat is currently in Adelaide, South Australia.

I have not been down there today but I would predict its length to be close to about 12-15 feet, probably about 5-6 feet for the beam. There are no numbers or identifying features on the pontoons.

Yes it has rudders as per the pictures.

Any other ides people? could this possibly be a custom design?

DK, I have tried every means to help ID this boat using the sail logo with no success, I apologize for taking so long to reply, but it looks like this is one of those boats that is going to be hard to ID either because its a custom design or because its using sails from some other boat (which I very much doubt). Will keep looking.

So other than pulling some kind of stamp off of the boat this one looks like it may have to be cataloged in the Beachcat Identification Album

The boat has features of different cats, like the way the decks angle downward into the boat reminds me of a Prindle 16 but of course those have totally different shaped (asymmetrical) hulls.

I think we need some of the Australian members to take a look. During the height of beachcat manufacturing in the 1970's and 80's there were hundreds of designs started up. Some of them built a lot of boats in a few yearrs, found that owning a manufacturing company really cut down on their sailing time and gave it up.

This one might have to be added there, although there is still hope, traffic on the site picks up a lot as we move out of winter in the USA and someone could easily come along who knows the whole history of the design, it's happened before.
