Hi all,i just bought my first catamaran, a used Hobie 15. My cat is in decent codition(2003 model), but i still havent sold some technical matters. I would really appreciate your interest in my questions.

1.I have read in a hobie 15 club(different boat version) assembly manual that the dolphin striker should be tightened after some utilizations. I tried to tighten the dolphin striker nuts but they seem to be tight πŸ˜• . So at what level shoud they be tightened in order to support properly the pressure of the mast?

2.After sailing for the first time with my hobie, the violon screw in tiller crossbar, was unscrewed. I tried to use a locknut with two teflon washers(to reduce wear from friction),but violon length isn't enough in to screw properly the locknut or if tightened to do so, tiller extension isn't flexible...What do you use in order to allow tiller extension to rotate properly, and secure that nut isn't unscrewed?

Any ideas or suggestions? πŸ˜•
