it will depend on your combined weight and what you want to get out of the boat

the hobie 14 has very little flotation and is generally considered a 1 person boat

let's say total weight below 150pounds, 70kg, everything ok

total weight 200pounds, 90kg, starting to get bogged down

total weight 250pounds, 120kg, seriously underpowered slug

better to look for a 15foot boat or a nacra 4.5,450,5.0,500

hobie16 probably your best bet in the $1000 price range for 2 people

something like this

I would think if a person was big enough that one person could, but, using average size individuals, at least two to pick it up comfortably! πŸ˜†

One
Only one
No more than one
Less than two
These are very small boats with very little bouyancy and even less room. The rigging is quite small and no intended for heavy loads. When you get hit by a good puff of wind with one on board, the boat heels up and drops a lot of the power off from the top of the sail. When it is overloaded all the stress is on the standing rigging, take a good look at it, it's really thin.
