I have a friend who will make centerboard springs for the hobie 21, He has qouted me a price of 15$ per spring. He will make them from a better steel than what was used in the original. He made me a set in the summer and they work great. If you are interested in some let me know. I am located in Germany but can get them hand carried to the US and mailed from the US so shipping will be minimal.

I guess you know this already but one of the tricks of competitive 21 sailing was to install two sets of springs. The boards sometimes have to sort of work their way down and don't go down all that promptly. The reason I mention this is that new springs might want to be stronger. Maybe 50% stronger would be good, I'm guessing.

Shut up, sheet in, trap out.

Do you mean 2 or 4 springs per side. Because with 2 per side the board is hard to pull all the way up. With 4 I think it would be impossible.

Of course "Back in the day" 21 sailors were "Manlier" πŸ˜›
