Hi,

My buddy and I were trying out an Aqua Cat on a lake yesterday with little wind. Combined weight 425.

The top of both sterns of the pontoons were below the water line.

Is that weight/distribution or is that a problem with the boat?

Thank you!

I would bet that boat was designed for less than 200 pounds. You need something in the 18+ foot range with that weight.

Yes, 425 is probably way too much for a 12.5, you mentioned weight distribution, if you moved your weight forward could you get the sterns out of the water? That is, without submerging the bows!

Now the Aqua Cat 14 is actually advertised as carrying a lot of weight.

From their website: "The Aqua Cat 14 is ideal for four large adults or where capabilities to support 1,000 lbs. are needed."

One should not expect too much from a piece of floating lawn furniture...
