I love watching the stuff come into the classifieds, there are some really interesting boats from time to time. Now here is something I didn't know was possible, a brand new Hobie 14!

Dream boat for solo sailors under 150 pounds.

Damon, Hobie doesn't make the turbo 14 anymore?

Or do you mean its not common to see a brand new one on Beachcats?

Hobie US doesn't sell the H14 anymore. The only fiberglass boats they sell here are the H16, FX1, and Wild Cat. The rest are rotomolded plastic.

Glad to see they now have a sailing version of their tandem kayak. For non-sailing days I love their mirage drive kayaks, and now to get a tandem one with ammas and a small sail is great.

Yes, that's why I was surprised to see a new Hobie 14 when it has been many years since they were manufactured in the USA. With the right skipper that thing could be a handicap racing (Portsmouth) sandbagger due to the lack of late model H14 raced in the last decade.

It could be an A fleet killer also if you could find a fleet to race it against. But yes in an open class it could have potential for greatness. Not to mention just a lot of fun for a lightweight person.
