I am interested in drying my vests and harnesses without taking them home to dry. I am looking for something that could be locked and would be mounted on the trailer. Recommendations form anyone with previous experience would be greatly appreciated.
how about a truck bed box with holes drilled in it in a few places for ventilation?
In my previous sail box i cut out a few 3" holes, covered them with patio screen material, and covered that with a plastic vent cover i purchased from west marine.
WHEN i do it to my current box. i will just draw 4" circle, use a small drill bit and drill out a few dozen holes. then cover that with some screen and call it done. no need for the vent cover imho

A pile of wet sailing gear is never going to dry if it is in a box. I don't care how many vent holes you put in it.
The gear needs to be hung out to dry and then stored.

How about simply attaching them to your hiking straps for the drive home? (that's what i do if they are wet)
I then wash them down with fresh water as i wash the boat off. and leave them there to dry
I put them away (in a big plastic box) in my garage later / if at all
they can sit on my cat (under a tarp or canopy)

I have a dock box next to my boat, however it usually fills up with other things. What I've been doing is leaving my wet gear on the mesh trampoline and then relying on the boat cover to keep the rain off. That has worked very well for me overall, saves my car from wet gear and my house from storing it. Once a month I take it home for deep cleaning.

Most boxes leak in the rain. Space will be limited but its good for hanging mainsheets and storing lifejackets.
Get a Nissan Xterra, the ventilated roof hatch is my favorite thing. I put wet gear and muddy boat shoes up there and they are dry by the time I get home. If not, they just stay there till the next trip.
