I will be at DeBordieu Beach sailing. This is Georgetown County. Does anyone know if there are any problems with beaching your cat in this county? Covers Pawleys Island, Litchfield, St Georges and Debordieu Beach Colony.

I've been sailing out of North Litchfield for years. First a sunfish (3-4 yrs), then a laser (2 yrs), this year will be the first with the hobie. There has always been a hobie on the beach while I was there. The same guy every year.

This past year (2010) I got 2 "warnings" from a neighborhood watch for confusing the turtles. I can't remember the exact phrase, but it was something like that. I ignored them, and kept doing what I always have. I don't believe there are any laws against leaving your boat on the beach. This year I'm NOT going to leave it right next to the beach access ramp, and hopefully I won't receive any "warnings."

We stayed at DebiDoo a few years ago. It's very private, so I doubt you'll get any warnings form year round residents... You could always call the DeBordieu management for their official stance on boats on their beach.
