Something You DON'T See Everyday,..
Just for fun: The "Cat2Fold". A 36’ x 24’ Biplane-rigged, folding, trailerable, liveaboard cruising catamaran.
Found it "on sale" over at Sailing Anarchy.
Cool Videos, w/ topless crew: :-O

Yeah, she really likes to go straight downwind. Wing on wing on wing. 😆
The spin begins to make sense if you have two parallel poles and no sprit (the real crazy part). There are some Facebook shots of other spinnakers being tried. I should look at those more closely.
What surprised me were the twin oversized windsurfing sails. Thought I was seeing a giant trifoiler for a minute. What do you do with those sails in a storm? Are those reefing points I see?
She looks like a fun 24’ wide party platform - a great cruiser for someone who doesn’t like being told how to live, or how to sail.

The Facebook page is interesting, the cabin space inside the hulls looks very useable and practical and not too Closter phobic. Also a little video of them assisting a stranded sailor who grounded what looks to be a Cape Dory. The stranded sailor had no communications or maps, the boat however looked undamaged, says something about the build quality
Very cool boat... IIRC, Brian has been mostly storing it in Mexico and commute-sailing winters.
I love the mostly open-deck design, and that it can store so simply on a trailer (it would fit in my sideyard). She can also go directly upwind at 60mph on that trailer. I've bashed up-wind and up-current along the North American Pacific Coast before... that kind of sailing is tough on gear even if you're doing it all under power. A straight tow up I-5 makes more sense, in my mind.
Cat2Fold was originally drawn for a traditional single mast, but the unstayed masts make it easier to rig. It is a different compromise, to be sure!

Have you done the infamous Baja Ha?
My buddy took a two year LOA from the airline, did the Baja ha, turned right for Honolulu, then kept going to Oz.

I have not HaHa-ed yet, but that is the loose plan for the trailerful of Tennant in my sideyard. I have helped with retrieval AFTER Baja Ha Ha buddy parked his boat in Ensenada.
Some HaHa folks come back north by way of Hawaii. It is a long track to be sure, but compares favorably to the uphill slog that otherwise needs made...
