I've read discussions on this forum before on the sizzler cats from the 70's. Wanting to know if there is any significant collector value to them. I think they are really unique, but more so when they are all set up and sail worthy. What would one pay for it? I understand original sail and equip would lend more to its value. Hope to get some input and general feelings about it.

Thanks all

They wouldn't really carry much value as collectables IMO.

The odd and obscure boats are fun to look at and talk about, however they don't auctually seem to bring much money when they sell.

I have seen several in my area over the last few years advertised for less than $1000
on trailers and they stayed listed a long time. Very prone to hull leakage.

Like bacho says, they are cool and all but I don't know of any "collectors" who would pay a premium, even for a perfect example.

Still, I would love to see and sail an original example of the Sizzler, especially the rare Sizzler 18, however these boats had a serious problem with weight gain because their aluminum hulls were completely filled with foam which collects water weight with no way to remove it.

Yep and it gave him wicked indigestion! Just like most of the guys who owned a Sizzler.
