Scored a cool freebie! And a question

I answered an ad in the freebie section for a free catbox. When I showed up to pick it up the guy said "I never cleaned it out, it still has all the boat parts". Score! And it turns out it was even for a P16! My same boat. Here's the question, the jib doesn't have a zipper but has a wire run through the luff with eyes on either end. Is this from an earlier prindle or maybe a different boat?

You now have a jib from the original P16.
It can be modified to work on your boat, but a sailmaker is required to make the changes.
(Remove the cable, put on a full length zipper luff...)
You might try to sell it as is and use the money to buy a new one for your boat, or something nice for your crew. πŸ˜‰
There aren't many older versions of that jib still around.

Or if you find a trashed H-16 around, snag the forestay/jib halyard and replace your 2 piece forestay. Pete

Wow cool! It seemed like it was older than my current boat. This cat box is just full of goodies lots of spare parts, extra rudder, 5 to 1 harken mainsheet set up. Tons of misc parts. Will the early mainsail work with my 1980s boat?
