I am used to sailing in Mission Bay, where I can launch at the Santa Clara ramp, and pull the boat over onto the sand, which makes it really easy to finish rigging and get in/out. Are there any ramps in the big bay that have a sandy beach right next to the ramp like this?

Thanks - I had kind of come to the same conclusions. it's a big bay, lots of room, but not feasible for a single-hander, I guess.

Fiesta Island is a good spot..

Also, may want to check out Crown Cove in San Diego Bay.. we used to go there. Dirt roads, but a good spot, and always some good wind for San Diego.

Thanks John - I'm going to drive down to Crown Cove today and do some recon.
