Recently I had a chance to sail a H16 in a race, first time with this cat. Don't ask how we did--haha...

I'm used to a P18-2 which is a lot more boat, but the H16 sure is fun. Anyway, a 25 knot gust flipped us, and I did as instructed: turtled on purpose and standing on to leeward hull to bring up the mast pointing into the wind. I was surprised it actually worked.

My question: Would you try this with a 18 footer, namely a Prindle 18-2? My take is that this won't work with our flimsy crew weight of only 260 lbs. Way too much buoyancy of the hulls.

Dan

Thanks,
Dan
