Took my Prindle 19 out on the water for the first time. Bought it a year ago and restored it along with a bunch of repairs. There are some albums in the technical gallery. New standing rigging, roller furler, trampoline, robline sheets, buffed, waxed, new graphics, etc. It's as good as new now.

Coming off a Getaway, I'm amazed at how responsive the boat is. Pull in the main a little too much and you can feel it slow down. The fiberglass hulls sound much different than the plastic ones.

Made some rookie mistakes like forgetting to put the centerboards down and wondering why we weren't going upwind. Ran into a few other problems.

Lost the shackle connecting the mainsheet to the traveler car on the water. Had some spare line to get us back to shore for a more serious fix. Need to carry spare shackles, circlips, etc.

I don't like the cleat angle on the jib blocks. The sheet always wanted to cleat. I'm going to try some of the 15 degree wedge kits to fix that.

Trapeze lines seem too long with the adjustable trap setup. Once I get more wind and try trapezing, I might have to short the trapeze wire.

I read that the boat is a transom dragger. Experienced that today. We have to sit way up by the front beam to stop the deafening gurgling noises.

Got some short footage sailing in light air today. Let's see if these links work.

Boat looks great. What camera did you shoot the video with?

Video was with a Sanyo Xacti that I've had for a couple years. Good waterproof camera/camcorder.

I have a bunch of footage of the old Getaway

And my first sailboat, which I still have still use occasionally. Hard to fit a cat in a car trunk but this dinghy fits.
