Random find on craigslist, described as a catamaran but can't imagine what it was used for and the description doesn't explain.

I think it's a small fish (salmon) processing plant.
Associated with a floating fish farm.

Ok, no one, including myself was anywhere near the intended use.
I couldn't resist, & contacted the seller. He is a computer science guy at UBC,(University of British Columbia, Vancouver).
He informed me;
"The platform was originally used for the prototype of a tidal turbine.
I’m more than happy to answer any other questions you have about the vessel."
Much more interesting however is his sailing project. It sounds like he is an experienced sailor, BUT, the project is for a blowboat to cross the ocean, next summer, WITHOUT a sailor!
