Long time lurker, first time poster and I originally registered as SC19 but that boat didn't work out. I've been around and sailing Supercats my entire life, my uncle worked for Bill Roberts at the original factory in Jupiter. I didn't know how good I had it growing up around there and sailing on those early 20s. Well, I finally found a SC17 and am working on getting her back in the water.

A one time that was my son's boat which came from upstate New York. He put the name "Freedom Cat" and the hull padding after he came to Florida. I am glad to see that you are going to put it back on the water. I also owned one of Bill Roberts boats, a Super Cat 20. A great boat, I still have many pictures of it. I sold the 20 to a sailmaker friend of mine in Canada probably 20 years ago.

Enjoy...we are from the same stomping grounds. I grew up next door to the Roberts' on Lake Mangonia sailing a Super Cat 17.

Hullflyer, very cool, you must know JJ. The hull padding is coming off, something going on under it on the port hull.

Saltlife, spent many days on Lake Mangonia. Not sure if it's a good idea to launch at the park off Australian anymore.

Congrats. I lived in Jupiter for about 3 years on and off. A buddy in Palm City gave me an SC17 last year. He was friends and neighbors with Bill.

I may be developing a problem.

Another SC17 popped up a few days after I got the first one. I went to look at it today for a parts and it was in pretty good shape and complete. So I bought the whole thing and got two sets of CatTrax. SCORE!

The guy I bought Hullflyer's son boat from said Hullflyer is the Godfather of Delray Beach.

I'm right on the line between Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens.

nice!

My dad lives in Boynton - i have never wanted to sail the Atlantic (again) but it's fun to look at the catamaran all tied up in Delray with my dad as we drive around

Enjoy !

reach out if you ever end up in the gulf / tampa side - i can recommend some facilities if needed

Cool, will do. My wife is from Safety Harbor and we visit friends over there. I've heard stories about the causeway.

I managed to make one good boat out of two. Everything is correctly rigged and ready to go.

Crew is amped.

No action shots, but she made it to the water and sailed just fine. Had the wife and kids screaming to slow down on the first outing. A couple of members will know the lake.

Amazing, I have two supercats 17 here, in Brazil.

One I bought in 2016, and the other I bought 1 week ago. the last one I am reforming. This is the SC17 that tries to cross the atlantic ocean from Africa to Brazil.... but one of the guys dead...

Here in Brazil the production of this boat ended in 1990.... and we have so few Supercats here... in my city, we have 6, and I bought this one to sell for some one here that wants to sail with it, but don't know how can fix..

Also, I am searching a circullar battens and a main sail top square.

Got out for a good sail today. Had my brother along with my boys and wife.

Made 6-8 runs 10-15 knts with my bro and I on the boat, all good. Then I gave my brother the helm. We promptly capsized. At least we know we can right the boat now.
