Could this be a 2-part decal? 2-color decals would be easy to print, and over-laying a decal would be very difficult. I can't imagine it is done that way at the factory. Tim, is the height and width of the black graphic larger by about the amount shown in this image?

It is a 2 color decal. I have this factory decal on my boat.

I think that is probably correct in it being a 2 piece decal. I also agree that it would be very difficult to get it lined up right. I still have some of both colors if anyone wants to give it a try. I really don't understand why they didn't just print them as one piece. It's gonna be hard to line up and get any bubbles out between layers.

The 2 part decal makes sense. Using colored vinyl and die cutting 2 sizes is way cheaper than screen printing each one. Looks like there is clear mask on them so you can peel the backs and line them up right which shouldnt be hard. For bubbles use the old windex trick. Clean and spray windex on the hull and carefully place the decal on top of the windex and position as needed. squeegee out the bubbles with a plastic spatula and let dry then peel the mask. Repeat for the second decal and done. I worked for a decal company in my misspent youth.

Use a spray bottle with water and a little dish soap in it. Spray the area where you are placing the decal and also spray the back of the decal. This will allow you to move the decal around until you have it placed exactly where you want it, then use a small squeegee to remove any bubbles and excess water. Lightly daub with a paper towel to help with drying also.
I used this method when applying registration numbers to the hulls of my boat. Hope this helps.

HI TIM
Do you still have 2 large blue and 2 small blue NACRA decals available for sale. Please email me at banddlivingston@rogers.com.
Thanks

If anyone has interest in the original legacy style Nacra grphics, these are available. The top,(large size) are the original dark blue, they only look dull because they are covered by a removable film that comes off with install.
These are all original factory decals.
Legacy Factory Nacra Decals.
I have a bunch of these. Get one for your boat, your car window,(your buddies car who sails a Hobie), your kids computer, your girlfriends chest.
$5 ea, $10 for the large ones.
You don't have a 5.2? Simply snip off the numbers, & keep the NACRA logo. What could be a better Xmas gift, especially for cheap sailors! Look cool, fly the logo, & help out Damon.
