I figure my friends on the Mississippi Coast (the forgotten coast) are busy either tying things down or partying.

It looks like Tormmorrow (Tuesday Aug 28th) is the night we find out what Isaac has got.

Tuesday night in Biloxi

Chance of rain: 100%

Wind: ESE at 68 mph

Humidity: 73%

Hurricane conditions likely. Showery rains containing strong gusty winds and heavy downpours at times. Low 78F. Winds ESE at 60 to 80 mph. Rainfall over 2 inches expected.

Watch, if the storm hits Biloxi/Ocean Springs head-on, all the news reports will be about how it's threatening NOLA.

It is going to be a damn shame if it washes all that nice soft new BP sand off the beaches. Those folks caught the bad end of the last one, and you are right NOLA got all the press.

Weatherbug webcam from Ocean Springs is looking pretty bleak right now.

Well the trailer was out of the water. Now, hard to say. If that is Sideways, I hope Hank has got her out of there. The whole "sideways" concept might take a new twist pretty soon if not.
By the way Damon, you are absolutely right, Houston media has not said a word about the folks on the coast.

looks like we get to test out all that dredging/sand build up job...our luck it will build up that oyster reef in front of cadet point and destroy all the new beaches they made. bp is prolly thinking they don't have to fix this. good news is that asbestos and mustard gas they found on horn island might have cleaned itself up!

osyc beach tie-downs? mostly all located
sail tubes? tied to the pool pilings, beat-up but survived
trailers left behind tied down? still there, sand dunes around them;
lone P-15 double tied down and plugs out... there's a Prindle mast bobbing under the pier... but pier is trashed and water too rough to snake one's way out for further inspection... hoping there's rigging connected to the mast, and something connected to the rigging...evac'd a LOT of stuff from the club...
watch damon's site, but OSYC's facebook, ocean springs sailing squadron facebook and ocean springs high school sailing team all have some pics...
all in all... took a mild grazing blow. hope to see ya'll at juanas or sometime.

The Prindle 15 has been located... it's under the remanats of the OSYC pier... apparently the pier and the Prindle duked it out... I haven't seen the Prindle, but the pier is in bad shape.... going to attempt recovery of the Prindle tomorrow.... any interested parties?

wish i could help, i have been trying to get "the owner" of the boat to donate it to the club...it has sails, rudders, new tramp, new shrouds(needs new bridle and forestay), trailor. mayby this forces the hand and the boat is fixable...the boat is fast, just can't handle heavy weight. good luck! let me know whats up and hopefully we can get it together again...

It lost the battle w/the pier, but kept a death grip on it nonetheless....waded out today w/Ken and cut the mangled shrouds, wrestled it out of the mud, and ever so slowly... one heavy step after another... drug it to shore.
Gash in the port hull at the bottom... front 4 feet of starboard hull missing.
Interesting deep cut in the rear crossbar...looks like someone took a grinder to it.
Mast has a dent but otherwise seems intact.
Sadly, crossbars and hulls are out at the curb with all the other flotsam and debris that washed up...
Mast is at the club.
We evac'd so damn many boats and crap and more boats at the 11th hour we were exhausted, needed to get our own stuff in order and were like, ok... this and that and that other etc etc stuff just has to stay. We left a few trailers, the sail tubes, some other stuff, and the P15. Sucks.
