Just getting in -- 7 hour road trip.

Wanted to get a couple of pics up tonight;

We could not find any HIN or manufacturer's plate anywhere. Will take better images tomorrow after we sort through everything.

LOA 12' 6", Beam 7' 8" with fiberglass vaka & ama, one original spruce aka (one replaced 2x6 aka) and lateen 'sunfish' type sail. Sail insignia is a barefoot print with a '12' inside.

Anyone familiar with the make and model of this type boat?

Sunfish made a Cat that looks just like the picture where one of the hulls is smaller more like a trimaran.
Can't remember the name right now but it will come to me.

Quick pics of sail insignia, etc ... Barefoot symbol measures 24" x 11 1/2"

Deck detail;

Peter ~ When we read the classified for this boat, we thouoght it might be a HiLu. Turns out, it's nothing like it ... it's way cooler πŸ˜€ !

The Vaka measures 12' 1/2" x 27 1/2" and has two hatches with interior bulkheads and 'raised floor' stowage.

Only similarity is the 'sunfish' type sail;

Luff 15' 10"

Foot 13' 6"

Leech 17' 3"

I received contact over the Holiday from Hawaii ~ Still waiting for particulars, but ... Looks like we've connected with the builder and will have access to original brochures!

Will keep everyone posted as information comes in!

Barefoot 12 Outrigger ~

Quick post ... Received B&W copies from D. Medve, co-owner designer for Barefoot Enterprises who produced the
'High Performance Sailing Outrigger Barefoot 12'.

Story goes ... In 1970(s), a small fleet was shipped to Walt Disney World Florida to be sailed off the beach for the opening ceremony of the Polynesian Resort ... the thought is that's how mine came to be in NC.
