Here is some footage a buddy of mine shot on our local lake 09/10/17 the day before Irma. I agreed to edit the footage as I just worked out how to get the GPS telemetry speedometer overlay on the video. Quite an eye opener. Yes, I know there's a typo in it ??!?@#$@#$

The water seems surprisingly flat for good wind. Nice vid from the Virb.

The lake is small enough that we don't see white caps till about 18kts. I think the forecast for that day was 15-25, but as is obvious from the video it's very up and down at times < 10.

Just started using an action cam last year and am very pleased with the VIRB especially for the price.

videos often don't capture the conditions on water
i have seem many videos (and taken a few) where the 4-8' swells look like little 1' rollers

Thanks John. I shot about 6 from my boat last year without the GPS overlay. It really adds a new dimension and keeps all the "fish" stories about how fast you are out of the conversation. Some guys use the SpeedPuck, but I think being able to see your boat trim, sail trim etc. at any given speed is much more relevant.
