Hellooooo

How many of the old timers are still here???
I have been away for a while and not even been sailing much in the last few years - Lake sailing kinda lost its zeal after a little trip I took. I'll post about that later. Anyway I've got the sailing bug again and have started working on my kinda large beachcat.

With all the posting I have done in the past I have no idea why that number is so low - I know a LOT was done on the On The Wire site but I thought I had been pretty active on here too. OH Well I'll try to contribute a bit and not worry about the post count

Getting back to the present - I pulled all the winches and traveler tracks off the Harstil today, planned a few upgrades and repairs. Tomorrow I'm gonna remove the tramp and fix the dings in both bows. While the glass is doing its thing, I think I'll measure the boom and draw up the dingy davit/radar arch to see how much stainless I'll have to order to build that. Biggest upgrade after that will be the cassette rudders to replace the under hung ones. Maybe I'll have it in the water by the end of August for the fall sailing season

Geeze That seems like it was another lifetime ago - With the REALLY Old Timers like Sonny Barber and Bill Mattson. Sonny's stories were great, such as totaling a VW with a Hobie cat or the mysterious object hanging out under the boat when he turtled in the Gulf off of Padre Island.
