I recently bought an 84 H18 that had a couple harnesses - but they dont fit me. Im a big guy at 250 lbs and am trying to decide between a full harness and a "butt bucket".

What do I need to consider? Mostly lake sailing and then beach sailing 2-3 weeks a year.

Thank you for your thoughts, brand recomendations, etc.

I'm in the same situation, and had to do some hunting to find one that had a chance. Most of the harnesses rated 'L' or even 'XL' wouldn't fit - apparently 'S' fits the average leprechaun, 'M' is for retired jockeys, and 'L' means 150 pounds soaking wet! I just purchased a Ronstan CL11, which is the only Ronstan harness that has an XXL size. It seems to fit all right, but I won't know for sure until Sunday when I take my new boat out for the first time!
