After searching the container ship name I found this live map of ships positions based on AIS. At this time shows a cost guard vessel anchored just south of the west end of Ship Island. http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/default.aspx?mmsi=636013340¢erx=-89.09354¢ery=30.3569&zoom=10&type_color=7

My wife's co-worker's husband was on the pogey boat... he knows the 3 asleep down below didn't make it. The guy's wife said the boat wasn't in the channel, but was some yards outside of it, not underway, when the container ship went into reverse... and the waters pulled the fishing boat into the container ship.... again, at least that's what the fisherman told his wife, who told mine... the sandy point is on its side at the bottom in 20 or 30 feet of water.

growing up in pascagoula you could tell when the pogey boats came into moss point by the putrid smell the plant would put out...the locals call 'goula the "city of seven smells". say a prayer for the lost sailors and their families...trajic indeed.
