Is anyone aware of any nice hotels over in the Dunnedin / Clearwater / St. Pete area where I can set up the Hobie, and leave it rigged pulled up on the beach for a weekend trip with the family?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

there are no hotels on the water that will / can allow you to do this (in dunedin/clearwater i dont know about st pete beach but i would guess the same)... however you can purchase a weekend parking permit from the Dunedin Rec Center ($10).

this will permit you to leave your cat mast up on the dunedin causeway for 2 nights. this does not allow you to use the causeway after hours (hours are 5am-11pm)

there are plenty of nice hotels in the area, but again.. none with beach / cat storage

Thanks Andrew. Paul had mentioned to me about the Dunnedin Causway, I am keeping that as an option but hoping for a spot right at the hotel. Not sure it exists. Anyone else aware of beach hotels in the area that might accommodate?

Hey Andy

glad to see you found the site. If anyone knows it will be these guys!

Good luck and remember your plan b isnt so bad, the causeway is a pretty safe place to leave your boat without having to worry about anything but the weather. If you do leave the boat there, remember to tie the boat to the trailer or even better to a stake in the ground in case a storm pops up at night
