Just out of curiosity, has anyone here ever raced one of those Corsair trimarans on a beachcat?

I raced one a few years ago on my old H16, and despite my best efforts he slowly but steadily creeped past me. Granted, I was very new to sailing (I didn't even know how to read my tell-tails yet! πŸ˜† ), but the Corsair still beat me fair and square. Has anyone here had better luck?

I have not raced one... but I have sailed along side. They are impressively speedy. I thought I would be able to walk away... he stayed with me a good while.

Depends on which Corsair
Portsmouth ratings, lower number is faster
Hobie 18-71.4
Hobie 16-76.0
Nacra 5.7-72.6
Nacra 6.0-62.6

F24-76.1
F242-74.3
F25C-61.9
F27F-69.4
F27-70.5
F28-67.1
F28R-65.0
F31-65.4
F31R-61.9
F750-61.9
You should be able to keep up with the 2 F24's, but after that the others should just walk away when they wanted to.
