Matt,
It's right. Look at his number for S2S. He took EVERY hit coming to him. DPN 72.94. We even rounded him to the hundredth. Three of us computed the numbers for S2S. It was right and nobody protested the handicap.

Philip, i tried looking at the results from S2S and the HIH results came up instead.

After some thought it is still an asymmetric boat with a ~28ft mast. I guess since p18s weren't ever widely raced like some boats, the DPN isn't as low as it could be. He could just be a hell of a sailor too. 😛

Dragonslayer, a Prindle 18 "MX" is the current record holder for the OSYC "Round Deer Island" course. Pretty much the hottest Prindle 18 you'll find.

And it's now for sale in the classifieds, another victim of "Spinnaker Envy".

I'm gonna buy the Dragonslayer, just so I can beat Duly's record, and then to do it on his own boat. 🙂

BTW, He has a sweeeet new ride in the works

Now there's your problem with that idea, Duly has about a 50 pound advantage. 😆

Come on Damon, give me credit. I've easily got a 100 pounds on him. It's not that I'm that big, it's that he is that small.

Ha, your right, these fast little dudes get on my nerves. Someday I'll have a big-boy boat like your N20. How I ever picked a sport where "smaller is better" I'll never know. :mischuge:

The only worse activity for a "full size" man would be jockey.

maybe :heybaby:

I started out looking at h18s then i missed out on a really nice one. I kept looking for a week or two and found this p19mx on craigslist. It was only a foot longer and had a sweet colored square top sail. 😆 I read about the boat online a little, talked to a guy who owns one(harry murphey), and he told me about things to look for. The one thing i didn't look at before buying it was the minimum crew weight, haha.

It has been a super steep learning curve.

For learning purposes.. most of the time we have 3 people on the boat. I have done a few 2up adventures with a crew weight of ~300-315lb. I just got my trap harness so will be doing more of that real soon.

I can testify. My H18 with squaretop rates 71.0 and I usually can't keep Dragonslayer in sight for the distance races.

True . . . . But Duly, there were "circumstances" that you have forgot about. So here is the rest of the story:
It was the weekend of the Horn Island Hop regatta. Myself and a few others had hosted a pretty intense "Pusser's Painkiller Party" on Friday night. http://www.thebeachcats.com/pictures/?g2_itemId=18603

Of course that put everybody in the mood for the weekend. Saturday we raced out to the island for the traditional chicken and beer. Everything started out just fine. My crew for the weekend was the beautiful Natalie, who was looking and feeling just fine!

Since her girlfriends were drinking, she asked me if I would mind if she joined them. Why not? Sounded like an ok idea at the time . . .

An hour later, my crew who does everything with intensity and the true competitive spirit, had "turned it up" a few notches.

That's my girl. Double barrels. You go girl! She's all in. Right?. . . . Wrong. Well, let's just say that the beer flowed fast and easy and the sun was beating down on us. Oh crap, we gotta sail back! Uh Oh!
.
.
.
Well, let just say that my crew was having issues with common motor skills, you know, things like say . . . walking. Well there's no cab service back to OSYC, and the wind has now picked up and is howling. So we shove off the beach and start staging for the start sequence and . . .
.
.
.
you guessed it. (that's her in the bottom left corner of the picture)

Yep fell off the boat. Not once, but three time. Told you she is a goal oriented high achiever. So during the race I had to retrieve (pluck with all my might) my crew several times from the drink, which allowed the light weight and slender Duly to captain the Dragonslayer past me and shamelessly beat me, boat for boat. In the end all was good and my lovely crew was happy, even at the finished of the wet and crazy ride back.

In this image she appears to be hugging her captain, but the truth is she was propped up and hanging on to me.

Sunday my enthusiastic crew was all in for the race around Deer Island. What a trooper she is. Here's an image of her working the sheets about an hour into the race. She did a great job. That's a F18 Tiger in the background that we rolled.

So now you know the rest of the story. The only other times Duly beats me across the line is when he is my crew, so I give him credit for that. 😛
Those are the facts and they are undisputed.
