I believe the Roughrider Regatta is upcoming this Labor Day weekend. I sailed it once about 20 years ago, and am planing to sail it this year. Any old salts on here have any experience with this regatta?
If so, what are the necessities to bring, and what are the niceties?
It doesn't look good for the regatta this year. There is nothing on their web site for 2017, their Facebook site is out of service, and last year's registration showed late entry fees after August 22nd. Registration should have been up for months now. Good luck, it sounds like a fun event, with some great history.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. It would be a shame for an event that has run for 40+ years to end.
I suppose I will call the number on the website.
Just found out yesterday that after 42 years the Ruff Rider Regatta on South Padre Island is canceled this year due to dwindling interest. This was going to be the first time I entered the event in over 20 years! Sad, sad day.
