My money is on Andy Humphries, only because I would feel better about having lost to him several times.

Andy is definitely a "Pro from Dover" in this event. Been a long time since he regularly raced Hobie 16's but has deep experience from the early days. He's also a Memphis sailor!

For those that aren't aware of how the Hobie are Divisions break down, here is a map.

Interesting that, by my count, there are only Six boats out of 73 that come from 9 and 15, the two closest divisions to the event.

Yeah.....any one of which could be national champion in a given year!

I've sailed with a bunch of those guys at midwinters, and it looks to me like half the line up or more are friggin' rock stars. You have to go down to about 50th place to find some of the mere humans that I can compete with!

That said....I'm rooting for Wally Myers.....he was most fun to have a beer with when the racing was done for the day!

Also interested to see how Andy does. He came up to Michigan for a couple regattas this year and killed it. Shared a campsite with him and glad to know him now, cool dude. Hope to soak up some of that skill by association. Haha.
